Elliptically polarized laser beam in a medium with spatial dispersion of nonlinearity: cross section evolution and light field ring-shaped structures

The self-action of a light beam of the Gaussian profile with a distribution of elliptical polarization uniform in the cross-section in a non-absorbing medium with spatial dispersion of cubic nonlinearity has been investigated numerically. Here, owing to the fact that the nonlocality of the nonlinear optical response and beam polarization were taken into account, we were able to observe a number of new unusual physical effects.
