There is an increasing acceptance for the use of renewable energy sources to achieve a sustainable power supply. In our contribution we present a vision of new energy supply structures and a cluster of projects supported by the European Commission which address the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) and distributed generation (DG) into the electricity grid.
