New challenges with substations utilizing communication networks

The new series of standards IEC 61850 about communication networks and systems in substations is on its way. By applying these communication systems in substations, totally new challenges arise for the planning, commissioning and operation of those installations. This work addresses some of these challenges and anticipates how the solutions could look like.
