We propose a knowledge discovery application framework that can be utilized online to knowledge-enrich the dynamic decision-making processes involved in manufacturing execution, diagnosis and optimization. The key concepts, building components, and available techniques related to application in manufacturing execution, diagnosis and optimization system are discussed. The proposed framework is applied to the development of an intelligent monitoring and diagnosis system for one type of manufacturing machine. The test results show it could provide decision-making support for machine health condition based maintenance.
