In a high speed packet switching network, the processing time in a node becomes an important delay component that must be taken into account in designing routing algorithms for time sensitive services. To illustrate this hypothesis, we propose a new delay sensitive routing algorithm that takes both link and node delay time into consideration. Our simulation study shows that our algorithm could easily outperform traditional routing algorithms that only consider link delay time.
