Coordination: a new field of application for information technology

A conceptual approach that is in effect a new paradigm for developing computer network applications for the support of organized, and therefore coordinated, human activity is offered. The approach involves drawing parallels between electronic structures and other real-world structures that support human coordination. The concepts discussed are now embodied in a software product, tentatively called TOGETHER, the capabilities of which are examined.<
