Wear particles are important information carriers which reflect the state of equipment inner abrasion. This paper discusses some applications of recognition of wear particles by computer graphics-image technology. Particularly we introduce ferrography image color model, ferrography image enhancement, and analyze some characteristics of wear particle in shape, texture and color.
