The lens array relay used in integral imaging for image depth conversion is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. We present a theory of the image depth conversion and explain the relation between the gap of lens arrays and the optimum image depth. The lens array relay can be used for the pickup system of three-dimensional integral imaging.
