Single sideband (SSB) systems have received great attention as an alternative to existing subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) systems to improve dispersion penalty experienced by analog fiber optic systems. In this paper, we demonstrate a novel technique to improve spectral efficiency in a single sideband system by spectral overlapping using a pair of orthogonal RF carriers. Simulation results of transmitting two 200 Mb/s channels using this technique in a back-to-back configuration show an error free performance.
