The annual worst-month rainfall and rain attenuation statistics is an important tool for the design of a reliable communication systems in a tropical region. A study of the worst-month rainfall rate and rain attenuation statistics for the Malaysian tropical climate has been presented in this paper. Conversion from average annual to worst-month statistics model proposed by ITU-R has been investigated based on one year collected rain rate and rain attenuation data. Parameters for ITU-R conversion model for Malaysian tropical climate have been proposed in this paper.
