Baseline wander compensation allows the effective use of low-frequency signal components in a perpendicular recording channel. In this paper, simple baseline wander models are presented, the associated compensation algorithms are developed, and their performances are formulated. The effect of loop delay on the compensation algorithms is also addressed. Simulation results quantify the performances of the proposed compensation algorithms.
