For the needs of optical storage and optical communication the nonvolatile photorefractive gratings (PG) both in bulk and waveguide samples of electrooptic crystals are of great interest. In this paper we investigate an influence of an incoherent green illumination to both, optical absorption for the red light and characteristics of photorefractive grating which are recorded by the external coherent red beams within surface layer of LiNbO3 samples doped with combination of Fe and Cu
