The paper discusses a decision support system (DSS) based on fuzzy methods that is applied to the interpretation and processing of gas-dynamic images received during the monitoring and control processes of underground coal mine atmospheres. A gas-dynamic image is the plot against time of the output signal of a monitoring sensor. The DSS supports the ventilation operator's decisions under complex and unanticipated gas-dynamic situations on the working face.
