Experimental study of the behavior of liquid metal under the plasma of a cathode spot

This paper reports the results of direct observation with high temporal and spatial resolution of the behavior of liquid metal under the plasma of the cathode spot of low-current vacuum arcs. New data have been obtained on the interplay between the formation of liquid-metal microstructures and the motion of the cathode spot.
