A high efficiency and nondissipative charging strategy for the fast battery charger is presented. The proposed charging strategy provides a charging method and an apparatus for rapidly charging the assembled batteries. The charging method has the advantages of high charging efficiency, rapid transient response and short charging time. Experimental verification is performed on 12 V/4.5 Ah nonspillable sealed-lead assembled batteries.
