This work presents a novel methodology for studying the transportation and energy sectors in an integrated fashion. The methodology is based on an object oriented model, which identifies and simulates the interdependencies of transportation and energy networks. The proposed approach is oriented toward strategic planning studies with a time horizon of ten years. A software code using JAVA technology is developed and applied to the main Chilean systems. The design of the software considers the development of activity models for each sector and provides the basis for studying their effects on the environment and economy in the country.
