The design of a two-port dipole that is fed by a hybrid ring is described. The two dipole ports provide simultaneous sum and difference element patterns. A prototype element was designed and fabricated. The input return loss for the two ports and isolation between ports was greater than 15 dB. The sum and difference patterns were verified by measurements in an anechoic chamber.
