In order to verify the usefulness of the auxiliary transmission-line method, which has been proposed to evaluate the noise temperature of a microwave thermal noise source, a liquid nitrogen-cooled coaxial noise source system has been constructed and a preliminary experiment has been made. This measurement result and a result calibrated with two known references have been compared, and it was confirmed that they were in good agreement.
