Different methods have been proposed for frequency offset estimation in OFDM receivers, most operating in the time domain using computational intensive correlations. A new method is proposed which operates in the frequency domain by analysing the intercarrier-interference in a synchronisation symbol. An efficient implementation is possible using the co-ordinate rotation digital computer (CORDIC) algorithm.
