This paper describes the configuration and functions of newly developed experimental system of media access control (MAC) method for inter-vehicle communications (IVC) system with 60 GHz millimeter wave band in order to evaluate and improve the quality of service (QoS) of the MAC methods. As the MAC methods, a CSMA adopted by DOLPHIN protocol and CSMA used spread spectrum (SS) are implemented in this system This paper also presents the fundamental performance evaluation results involving the hidden terminal situation.
