A very efficient and accurate approach to analyze the two-dimensional electromagnetic scattering from a periodic array of circular cylinders embedded in a magnetized ferrite slab is presented, using the lattice sums formula. Numerical examples show that this structure can be applied to an ideal polarization splitter and an electrically controlled switch.
