A novel bit rate and format independent differential group delay monitoring method using a hybrid-integrated wavelength converter is proposed. This method could work at more than 100 Gbit/s, and its feasibility was successfully confirmed through the demonstration of 40 Gbit/s PMD compensations with RZ and NRZ format.
