An optical orthogonal code is a family of (0, 1) sequences with good auto and cross-correlation properties. The study of optical orthogonal codes has been motivated by an application in fiber-optic code-division multiple access systems, which use techniques of optical intensity modulation and direct detection. Construction for optimal optical orthogonal codes is closely related to cyclic difference family. In this paper, a construction algorithm for cyclic difference family with a single base block is suggested, we achieve it by computer and some results are obtained, based on these results, some optimal (ν, k, 1) optical orthogonal codes are produced by a recursive approach. In addition, a method of constructing the cyclic difference family from finite fields is provided, and some optimal (ν, k, 1) orthogonal codes are also produced.
