The Resource ReSerVation Protocol (RSVP) can provide quality of service guarantees for real-time services. However, the RSVP suffers from the mobility problem in wireless mobile networks. To reduce the service disruptions during handoffs,a fast handoff mechanism which makes preparations for prospective handoffs was generally used. We illustrate an infrastructure with efficient intra-domain mobility management in IP-based wireless networks. We propose mobile RSVP and fast handoff mechanisms using the techniques of aggregate reservation and path extension. Performance evaluations are performed through simulations.
