A novel 2D angle-of-arrival (AOA) estimation technique for multiple wide-band FM sources is developed. Based on an L-shaped array, the proposed method employs spatial time-frequency distributions (STFD) in conjunction with a coherent signal-subspace (CSS) processing technique to estimate the direction cosines. CSS processing is achieved by using a unitary constraint interpolation technique over multiple time-frequency points. Computer simulations demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed algorithm.
