This paper examines the use of the NEC mPD7281 programmable signal processor in a multiprocessor configuration, for the execution of digital signal processing algorithms. Speed-up rates and effects of multiprocessor communication on speed-up rates are determined for FIR, IIR and the LMS adaptive filtering algorithms using the software simulator and assembler.
