There are two main structural states which ensure the high coercive force of MnAl-based alloys. The first is the result of cold deformation and is characterized by a high density of defects where domain walls pin. The second is the result of dynamic recrystallization during hot deformation. It is characterized by small grains and low densities of defects. To determine the optimal deformation, the authors investigated the connection between the structural peculiarities of the alloy and its magnetic properties.
