Engineering responsibilities in protecting the environment while developing ocean resources

It took the experiences of Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl t o make the world sit up and take notice of just how polluted our waters are. No longer is it necessary to visit an industrialized city or sail down a commercial artery to see the effects our technologically advanced, no deposit-no return society is having on the environment. The evidence has drifted right out into the middle of our oceans. The disastrous consequences are there for all to see.
