HIV therapy is considered to be effective if it can suppress the viral load to below 50 copies per ml of plasma in less than 6 months. This response time to therapy can be estimated towards the development of an on/off control strategy for the chemotherapy of HIV as well as to aid clinicians in therapy and measurement scheduling.
