On the solution of best fit paraboloid as applied to shaped dual reflector antennas

The phase error across the aperture of a best fit paraboloid used in conjunction with a shaped subreflector is derived accurately. Optimization of the system optics is examined with a view towards achieving a minimum gain loss due to the phase errors.
