Measurements are described of the driving-point admittance and the amplitude and phase distributions of the current for a half-wave dipole antenna immersed in a stratified medium for various gradients

axis is along the antenna. The study includes a description of the apparatus, a discussion of the effect of the nylon films separating the layers, and an interpretation of the data. Reference is made to the possible application of a half-wave dipole antenna to the detection of an inhomogeneity in a medium.
