The paper describes a two-dipole applicator that is capable of providing in-depth and relatively uniform rates of heating (SAR's) over the volume of the torso and greatly reduced SAR's for the rest of the body. Power coupling efficiencies in excess of 60 percent and fairly low leakage power densities have been measured for the applicator.
