A first-order design theory for fin-line circuits is developed by establishing a correspondence between a fin line and a set of rectanguIar waveguides. The usefulness of the method is demonstrated by applying it to the analysis of a transition from a fin line to a below-cutoff waveguide. Finally, theoretical and experimental results are given for a bandpass filter, which show a fairly good agreement.
