Microwave Generation Using Sheet Relativistic Electron Beams

Potential advantages in the use of a sheet electron beam for generation of high-power microwave signals are discussed and preliminary experiments to establish their applicability are reported. An examination indicates that sheet beams probably have greatest utility in the frequency, range 10-100 GHz.
