It has been previously shown that stable, narrowband operation of Nd :YAG lasers can be achieved by injection seeding, provided the detuning between the slave and injection lasers is sufficiently small. We have found a new simple method of monitoring this detuning which can be used to maintain stable operation for hours at a time.
