Laser emission from NdAl3(BO3)4crystals of various thickness with directly applied laser mirrors was investigated on a polarization-dependent basis and time-resolved spectra were recorded. CW monomode operation with an output power of 5 mW was attained. Though NAB (NdAl3(BO3)4should be electrooptic (space groupR32), no electrooptic effect was observed by determining the mode shift from the influence of an electric field during laser operation.
