Effect of alloying on the Nd2Fe14B-type tetragonal structure in the pseudoternary systems Er2(Fe,TM)14B for TM = Mn and Co

The pseudoternary systems Er

(Fe,Mn)

B and Er
2
(Fe,Co)
14
B have been studied and we report an unusual variation of the unit cell volume with composition across the limited range of formation of the tetragonal Nd
2
Fe
14
B-type phase. Compositions outside of this range are multiphase consisting of known intermetallic compounds.
