Application of SQUID sensors to the investigation of neural activity in the human brain

The unique capabilities of superconducting magnetic field sensors have made the study of weak magnetic fields associated with neural activity in the brain a significant area of research in the laboratory and clinic. To illustrate these applications of superconductivity we give examples of the kinds of results that can be obtained by studying cortical and subcortical sources.
