The capacity of the photon counting channel with an average-power constraint equals P_{s}/(kT \ln2) bit/s at all noise temperatures T , where P_{s} is the average signal power and k is Boltzmann's constant. The channel can carry arbitrary orthogonal signals and is not restricted to the poise-position modulation (PPM) signals adduced in the above paper. ^{1}
