This paper discusses the current situation and further development of the Fujian power system which is already interconnected with East China power system, addresses its stability issues after summarizing the calculation results and presents a general configuration of the security and stability control system as a solution to the stability problems. The paper also describes the temporary stability control scheme during the initial period of the interconnection, including ways of communication between control stations and techniques related to control decision tables. Some studies in this paper are about application of new stability control technology in China and therefore provide a valuable reference for the stability control of nationwide system interconnection.
