Describes an instrumentation amplifier, using standard bipolar processing, with an input common mode voltage range extending below the single supply ground to -1 V. The integrated circuit has the bandwidth and gain necessary to meet the particular requirements of amplifying the output of a zirconia dioxide sensor to continuously measure the relative amount of oxygen in the automotive exhaust. Gain is trimmed to ±1/4 percent accuracy using fusible aluminum links.
