In this paper, an APWM resonant inverter and a series resonant converter with PWM control are employed as the silver box and AC VRM respectively for a high frequency AC power distribution system. The system performance has been investigated by using the simulation tool PSPICE. The simulation results show that the proposed HFAC power system has the advantages of low THD in the bus voltage, close-to-unity rated PF in input current at the point-of-use, near-zero switching losses and fast transient response.
