The error performance and implementation of a class of error- and erasure-correcting (d,k) block codes are investigated. These codes can be represented by restricted integer compositions of arbitrary length, appended with a small and fixed number of redundant bits. Bounds on block-error rates and error-probability curves obtained by simulations are presented
