The State Energy Commission of Western Australia (SECWA) has co-developed a unique protection equipment test system (PETS) with a local Western Australian company called ACET Ltd. The test system uses an IBM AT compatible personal computer for direct operator control of 3-phase voltages and current sources. The author describes the development, method of operation and experience to date of the new equipment
