The principle and simulation of a modified maximal-ratio-combining (MRC) beamformer that suppresses strong interferences for the onboard digital beamforming (DBF) antenna in high attitude platform stations (HAPS) is described. The simulation showed that interference is suppressed when the input signal-to-interference ratio is -20 dB. The beamformer works well even during multiple strong interferences. The bit error ratio performance was also simulated
