For the original article see ibid., vol.37, no.12, p.2067-73 (1989). The commenter asks the authors of the above-titled paper to explain how the data shown support their summarized result, where they state that 'the addition of more transputers will also reduce the computational time'. He also asks for clarification of the extent to which the configuration of the transputer network and/or the task sharing of the transputers was different in the different cases discussed. Finally, he asks if it is correct to assume that the transputers were on commercially available mass-produced boards and that the OCCAM software used was a standard (as opposed to custom) language package. The authors provide answers to all of the queries.<>
