The upgrade of three 1927 vintage hydrogenerators and the conversion from a manned station to a remote-controlled station is described. The equipment replaced, modified or added is discussed as well as the installation methods used to minimize loss of generation. The resulting benefits from a system operation standpoint are also discussed
