In this paper, we consider the use of spatiotemporal/spatiotemporal-frequency (st/stf) representations (an extension of time-frequency representations) for dynamic scene analysis. The joint nature of these representations, which provide frequency information localized to points in spacetime, provides a very natural framework for simultaneous spatial and temporal analysis. This greatly facilitates an integrated approach to the problem. Furthermore, as we demonstrate in this work, this integration is not obtained at the expense of an ability to formulate explicit spatial and temporal features
