Quality of Experience (QoE) is the users' most direct assessment of the network operator's service. How to accurately and efficiently collect QoE data from a point near the user is always a technical challenge to the operators. The way QoE related information submitted to the management system is important because the volume of the data may be excessive enough to interfere with the ordinary chargeable services. After the comparison of two current QoE collection methods, this paper reviews recent technical improvements in QoE measurement area and provides an analysis of smart phone capability. Finally the Smarter Phone based Live QoE Measurement method is proposed. The advantage of this method is to bring sophisticated and complex live QoE measurement process onto the powerful smart phones hence reduce the data collection and transmission load of the network while provide a live and accurate QoE measurement.
