a compact internal folded monopole for GSM/UMTS/LTE application in the USB dongle connected with a laptop computer is presented. The proposed internal antenna uses a radiating plate with a tuning pad folded into a compact structure to generate two operating bands at about 900 and 1800 MHz to cover the GSM900 (880~960MHz) and GSM1800/1900/UMTS/LTE2300/2500(1710~2690MHz) respectively. The proposed antenna has small size and low profile and is easy to fabricate. Details of the USB dongle embedded with the proposed internal antenna are described, and experimental results are presented and discussed.
